}} ''Iris cristata'' (also known as 'Dwarf Crested Iris' and 'Crested Iris') is a species in the genus ''Iris'', it is also in the subgenus of ''Limniris''. It is a rhizomatous perennial plant, endemic to the eastern United States. It has pale lavender flowers with a white patch and orange or yellow crest. It is a close relative to ''Iris lacustris'' (Dwarf lake iris), the only other crested iris native to North America. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant in temperate regions. ==Description== It has slender, greenish,〔British Iris Society (1997) 〕〔Richard Lynch 〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://irisbotanique.over-blog.com/article-chapitre-ii-iris-a-touffe-et-autre-partie3-106518511.html )〕 or whitish yellow rhizomes.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://ozarkedgewildflowers.com/spring-wildflowers/crested-iris-iris-cristata/ )〕 They are shallow rooted.〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/beauty/iris/Dwarf_Woodland/iris_cristata.shtml )〕 They spread by sending out long stolons from multiple branches.〔〔〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?kempercode=k690 )〕〔James Cullen, Sabina G.
